Man Dies From Injuries Week After Shooting At Tractor-Trailer Training Center In Bridgeport

A 28-year-old man who was shot multiple times, including once in the head, last month at the New England Tractor-Trailer Training School in Bridgeport has died from his injuries.

Eric Salters, of New Haven, was shot by a lone assailant around 11:30 a.m., Jan. 26, at the school, 510 Barnum Ave., said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department.

At the time of the shooting, police said the attack was captured by nearby cameras and shows the suspect, who is still at large, walk up to Salters as he was walking to his car and shoot him at least six times.

A student at the school, Salters was transported to Bridgeport Hospital. He was unconscious upon arrival at the hospital and never regained consciousness, Jones said. 

On Monday, Bridgeport detectives were notified of his death, Jones said. 

 An autopsy will likely be performed later this week at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
